Meditation App Design

Overview

In modern society, people live under constant stress, and feelings of anxiety and depression are on the rise. Meditation, as the optimal way to alleviate these negative emotions, can help individuals relax and find solace. This is the primary focus of the current UI design project. The aim is to address individuals who struggle with anxiety-induced sleeplessness and design a meditation app to facilitate better relaxation for them.

Design Concept

Based on the virtual user persona, I have designed four main processes. These include registration and login, setting daily preferences, engaging in daily meditation, and incorporating social features. The social functionalities have been uniquely tailored according to the specific needs of this virtual user.

She is an arts student who has been graduated from university Recently. She is preparing for her working preparation exams. She is a perfectionist and likes to have everything planned and prepared. She has a detailed and structured plan for the future and rarely allows herself to relax. She usually spends most of the day studying, with only a small amount of exercise in the evening.

Motivations and attitudes

· The reality phase does not meet her expectations, she will engage in self-denial.
· Lack of sleep at night and become a bad loop.
· Anxity about passing the exam sucessfully or not.
· Peer stress of the increasing age.

Goals

· Some positive energy can be given psychologically which can help her difficulties in falling asleep.
· Like traveling with grandparents on weekends to release stress from the week.
· Pass the exam sucessfully.
· Have more time to be with friends.
· Can concentrate easily in the daytime to reading more book.
· Self-reflection can be done in other ways rather than think about this before sleep everday which bring her the difficuties of sleeping hard.

Journey Map

Senario: Yu will take part in the first exam next Monday.She feels really anxious since she has been notified the date of the first exam. After she printed the certification, she realised that there are a number of study materials she has to review. And she thought she need do more text queations.

Story Board

Senario: Yu finished her studying plan the night before the exam and went to bed ready to sleep. She felt still very anxious and closed her eyes thinking about her inability to answer the questions in the exam room. So, she wanted to meditate to adjust her breathing and relax her state so that she could take the exam tomorrow afternoon without any problems. But as she had been unable to concentrate, she decided to try the share function in the meditation software. She then linked up with a girl who was also having trouble sleeping. The two had a natural sound meditation together and some discussions, and both ended up going to sleep without any problems.
