Key findings & recommendations

Task1: Look for hotels

Findings:

1. Image: Didn’t show any high-quality images of hotels.

2. Layout: The layout for the description is very wired, because all the contexts are aligned at the left slide.

3. Info: The information looks unclearly, the location is not clear enough, and also user can not know any details about hotels, like price and level.

Recommendations:

1. High-quality images improve the overall aesthetic of a website or application. They make the product visually pleasing and more engaging, which can enhance user satisfaction and create a positive first impression.

2. Clear information allows users to quickly understand how to perform tasks and navigate the interface, improving the efficiency of their interactions.

Task2: Check weather

Findings:

1. Illustrations: The illustrations are not matching the whole UI elements on this page.

2. Hierarchy: There is no hierarchy between the title and information, so it is very hard to see the key info.

3. Spacing: For the Tides, there is no spacing between all the contexts, and it’s not easy to read, it will be better if the tides have visual illustrations or animates.

Recommendations:

1. Well-designed illustrations can add aesthetic appeal to an interface, making it more visually engaging and pleasing to users. This can improve the overall user experience and leave a positive impression.

2. Hierarchy makes interfaces easier to use by providing a logical structure. Users can understand and navigate the product more intuitively when there's a clear hierarchy.

Task3: Find favourite activities

Findings:

1. Add to favourite: This feature should be on the top right of the screen or on the button.

2. Location: The Location of the “Favourite” feature is on the “More” page, so it is actually not easy to find this function in a really short time.

3. Pop-up info: The Pop-up info of “Added ....... to favourite” is on the button of the page, and it is dark background and white words, it’s not a very eye-catching design.

Recommendations:

1. Filters enable users to tailor search results based on individual preferences like budget, location, and amenities, enhancing personalization and user satisfaction.

2. At times, important updates like travel guidelines, cancellations, or reminders need prompt attention. A pop-up ensures immediate notice.

Task4: Use public transportation

Findings:

1. All the stops: The title of all the stops looks busy on this page, and the name of stops can be in another colour like light blue.

2. Timeline: The timeline of bus looks very messy, and user can not actually totally understand all the informations on this page.

Recommendations:

1. Choose a clear and legible font. This is crucial for users to quickly read and understand the bus stop names. Sans-serif fonts are often a good choice due to their simplicity and readability.

2. Based on the timeline, determine what the most important information is that needs to be conveyed. Typically, this will include the name of each bus stop, the expected arrival times, and any relevant details like transfer points or bus numbers.

Task5: Find toilet through map

Findings:

1. Locations: The locations are very useful, but they can not show the near restroom to users.

2. Information: The info on the restroom is not enough, it is much better if the map will tell you how to directly get to the near restroom.

3. Map: The map does not contain a lot of useful information, and the map just looks like a 2D illustration.

Recommendations:

1. Maps offer spatial insight into attractions, accommodations, and more. They aid in route planning, navigation, and understanding of the destination's layout. Whether on foot, by car, or by public transport, maps are vital for efficient travel.

2. When traveling, finding restrooms can be tough. An app feature showing nearby options improves user convenience.
